I am the daughter of Indian immigrants, who raised me with the notion that a child’s only and most important “job” is to learn. When I wanted to do volunteer work as a child, my father told me to focus on my grades, as education was the most important tool I could have for my future. That passion for education and learning has never left me, nor has the passion for equal access to excellent education for all children. NGI allows me to serve children and families in a way that honors my parents’ lessons and is deeply, personally important to me.
